![]() ![]() I watch as he rummages around the room, checking this pot of that, until he stops near a group of flowers in pinks and reds, and turns around. When we entre, giggling about something he said, I plop on the couch. I’ve come to know this little place well. Since Louis’s parents aren’t a fan of all the dirt inside their home, they let him have the entire outside. We reach the back of the yard/jungle to find another place. It’s lovely, though, and provides plenty of privacy. Trees of all kinds and vines and I’m sure something poisonous here or there. It’s huge, and exactly what Tewksbury would want. He takes be down a path through his back yard. When I protest, he insists it’s not going to be a problem. Instead, he takes me through the side gate. So, I don’t argue as we turn down his street, toward his family’s home. I must admit, I would also prefer to spend the afternoon with him, instead of looking over the same evidence for the millionth time. I smile, and try to hide the blush on my cheeks. But I’d much rather spend the afternoon with you.” ![]() “You truly have nothing better to do?” I ask. “I was bored,” is all he says when I ask him why he decided to come get me personally. We walk out of the area, down to where he lives. I smiled, tried it on my tongue, and called him ridiculous. What else was I supposed to think? Nonetheless, he told me his first name, saying it was only fitting I know. For the longest time, I believed his name was just “Tewksbury.” He’d laughed when I told his as much. I smile, looping my hand in the crook of his elbow. His laugh rings through the small street. “Viscount Tewksbury, marquess of nincompoop.” I take a slight bow. “That didn’t take long,” a familiar voice calls, with a familiar grin to go with it. I bolt down the stairs, bypassing Edith’s combat lessons and busting out the door. I smile wildly as I grab my coat and gloves, abandoning the note on the desk. Sure enough, the boy himself stands outside, leaning against the fence. I raise an eyebrow and peek out the front window. Once you’re done talking with Edith about the gift, come downstairs. I watch the shut door as I toss the ribbon to the desk and open the note. See you later, Enola.” Edith departs, shutting the door behind her. “Perhaps one day you’ll change your mind. I take my vase – that was empty for maybe half a day since the last bouquet withered – and place the new bouquet inside, untying the ribbon from the stems. “That won’t be necessary,” I shout, cutting her off. Although I could probably guess what it says-” ![]() She knows about the importance of privacy, especially around my mother, but I must be sure. “You didn’t read the note, did you?” I ask. Maybe that one idea isn’t so ridiculous after all. Two of the three blooms are hard to come by at this time of year, and I only know one person who would bother growing them. “A beautiful arrangement, I believe.” She smiles as if she knows something I don’t.īut what she doesn’t know, is the moment I saw the bouquet I knew exactly who was behind it. No name, but there is a note.” She shows off a parcel of red roses, pink camellias, and forget-me-nots tied with a ribbon I had lost the other day. “Enola?” Edith asks.Įdith steps in, a hand behind her back and a silly grin. There’s a knock on the door before it creaks open a little. He says I should think about something other than worrying about the case, that some time off would do the case some good, even. Sherlock insists the time is good for me. But until then, there is not much for me to do. Then, I will be attending a ball to get some information on the suspect. The case I’m currently working on with Sherlock has come to a bit of a standstill until Friday night. ← Previous Work Part 5 of One-shot collections Next Work → Stats: Published: Completed: Words: 9079 Chapters: 5/5 Comments: 40 Kudos: 543 Bookmarks: 54 Hits: 10052Ī sigh bounces off the walls of the old apartment as I sit back in the chair. no beta we die like Mycroft must have in the second movie.Sherlock's shoulder actually gets tended too.I watched the second movie and ran to Word.Enola Holmes/Viscount "Tewky" Tewksbury. ![]()
